We are beyond excited to announce that our 5th Annual Concert for Socks is happening Friday November, 15th in Winnipeg at the West End Cultural Centre. We have a stellar lineup of local music this year with Attica Riots, Efflo, and viisi feat. Ellowex.
Concert for Socks aims to raise support and awareness for homelessness through song, story, and art. This year we are happy to share with you that in addition to a great lineup of local music we will be honored with an art exhibit hosted by individuals who have lived experience with homelessness and addictions.
We invite everyone attending to bring a pair of clean new socks to the concert. All proceeds plus all material donations received at the concert will be given to our partner organization in Winnipeg, 1 Just City.
1 Just City supports three drop-in community centres in Winnipeg’s core neighbourhoods: West Broadway, the West End and Osborne Village. Each of their drop-in sites serve those living with addictions, those without a place to call home, or those shunned by others based on race, income and sexual orientation. Their services include daily meals, art, senior’s programs, haircuts, showers, laundry, toiletries, and clean undergarments. In the winter months they also run the pop up warming centre in Osborne Village: Just a Warm Sleep.
Doors open at 7pm and show starts at 8pm. Tickets are $10+tax/fees in advance or $20 at the door.
This is an all ages event. Bring socks!
